BREW, December 17th

We’re having a holiday themed reading at BREW. Join us for drinks, stories and whatever else might pop up.

First 8 writers to sign up get to read. No more than 8 minutes per reader. Stories must have a holiday tie in.

Brought to you by Bridge Eight.

Grape & Grain, October 2nd

Abridged at Grape & Grain featured readings that tackled the realities of life in Florida, stories and poems about pain and transcendence and, as always, work that went to bold new places.

But we’d expect nothing less of our three readers—Hurley Winkler, Sam Bilheimer and Valerie Anthony—each known not only for their writing, but for their ability to enrapture an audience.

As the third installment of this semi-regular reading series presented by Bridge Eight Literary Magazine, we want to thank everyone who came out to support us and to support literature in Jacksonville.

The Volstead, August 20th

Our second installment of Abridged was inside Downtown Jacksonville’s newest—and coolest—bar, The Volstead (115 West Adams, Downtown).

People filed in through an unmarked door and passed what looked like someone’s vintage living room to the back. The audience and readers were tremendous and made this evening in August a breakout night for Abridged.
